Initiated and led by the NGO Avenir De l'Environnement (ADE), the Support Project for small coffee and cocoa producers in the sustainable management of agricultural land by promoting green entrepreneurship in three municipalities (Agou, Amou and Kloto) of the plateaux region was launched Friday in Amou-Oblo in the commune of Amou 2. This project benefits from the financial and technical support of the Morija Association of Switzerland.

The Support Project for Small Coffee and Cocoa Producers in the Sustainable Management of Agricultural Land will be implemented in the communes of Agou 1, Kloto 1 for cocoa production and in the commune of Amou 2 for coffee production.
Planned for a period of four years (2020-2024), this project concerns cocoa agroforestry cooperatives in the Fiokpo zone in the Kloto, young coffee and cocoa producers New Generation, coffee cooperatives of Amou-Sud/FUPROCAT, beekeepers in the coffee and cocoa zone and women processors of coffee and cocoa.
Its purpose is to keep small producers in their environments of origin by giving them the opportunity to carry out agricultural and economic activities with high added value in a sustainable way in an adequate and environmentally sustainable living environment in order to sustainably improve their living conditions.
The said project aims to support young coffee and cocoa producers in the restoration of agricultural soil through agroforestry, the promotion of good institutional, organizational and functional governance within their cooperative society, the development of beekeeping and the valorization of the cocoa shell into soap and organic compost.
