In an interview with Financial Afrik, the managing director of the BRVM, Dr Edoh Kossi Amenounvé indicated that “despite Covid-19, our market has been the least volatile in the world”.

The BRVM was relatively impacted, in 2020, by the health crisis. However, it has been less volatile than most other stock exchanges in the world and in Africa; in connection with the various actions that have been taken in the face of this pandemic crisis. “We quickly adopted all the barrier measures recommended by the health authorities of the WAEMU countries, to protect our staff at the headquarters in Abidjan and in the national branches. After that, we launched our Succession Plan which allowed us to continue our activities without a physical presence on our premises,” said Edoh Kossi Amenounvé.
Number 1 of the BRVM also recalled the actions taken to facilitate the task of issuers and intermediaries. This includes, among other things, the awareness, communication and information campaign aimed at listed companies, bond issuers and intermediaries, to reassure them that all measures have been taken to deal with the crisis. and support them in holding their board meetings, their general meetings, as well as the dissemination of information on the market.
