.Budget revenues and grants rebounded by 4.1% while the UEMOA budget deficit, including commitments including grants, fell to represent 5.7% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2020.
The budget deficit of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), including commitments including grants, amounted to 5.220.5 billion. According to the BCEAO, this situation calls into question the efforts made previously by States to bring the deficit within the Community standard of 3.0% at most.
The Central Bank also indicates that budgetary revenues and grants amounted to 16,131.7 billion CFA francs in 2020, a slight increase of 629.0 billion CFA francs or 4.1% compared to the previous year.
This increase was mainly due to donations, which recorded an increase of 956.4 billion CFA francs or 60.4%, whose impact was mitigated by the fall in budgetary revenues of 327.4 billion CFA francs or 2.4%
