The dollar up very slightly against the euro. Currency traders are groping after a still cautious message from the US Federal Reserve (Fed).

The dollar barely strengthened on Friday against the euro and a basket of other currencies. Around 7:00 p.m. GMT, the dollar gained 0.10% against the euro, at 1.1902 dollars for one euro, and the dollar index, which compares the greenback to other major currencies, gained 0.13%.
Since the beginning of the month, the greenback has lost some of its gains, even if it remains up 2.7% against the euro since the beginning of the year. Since the beginning of the year, the dollar has strengthened as investors believe that the United States will experience stronger growth than the rest of the world due to a rapid vaccination campaign against Covid-19 and major investment plans.
However, Fed officials insist that the US recovery is far from complete and still largely needs the support of accommodative monetary policy.
