NIAMEY, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Niger's government last Friday adopted in council
Ministers the draft general State budget for the year 2020 approved for revenue and expenditure at a
amount of 2,236.15 billion CFA francs (3.756 billion dollars) against 2,157.31 billion francs
CFA (3.624 billion dollars) in 2019, an increase of 3.65%, we learn from an official source
Sunday in Niamey.
This budget, recalled the government in a press release, "comes in a context marked by
challenges related to regional security involving high pressures on resources, price variability
raw materials and the vagaries of the weather".
On the economic level, the press release specifies that there is an increase in growth in terms of
nationally, despite a decline at the international level, adding that it "takes into account the orientations
of the Renaissance Program and the priorities and strategic choices defined by the government,
particularly in the Economic and Social Development Plan (PDES 2017-2021) and the Program
economic and financial (PEF 2017-2020) concluded with the International Monetary Fund".
This finance bill for the 2020 budget year will be sent to the Nigerien Parliament for adoption.
