The Investment and Development Bank of the Economic Community of West African States (BIDC) finances poultry enterprises in Guinea to produce 25 million chickens per year.

Financial contributions from the Investment and Development Bank of the Economic Community of West African States should serve Guinean poultry business associations as part of the efforts of the Conakry authorities to promote agropastoral activities.
President Alpha Condé announced at the last Council of Ministers that this BIDC agreement will eventually allow Guinea to produce 25 million chickens per year, thus supplying the local meat market.
In Guinea, livestock farming is the second largest activity in the rural world after agriculture and concerns about 210,000 families, or 30% of the rural population, according to statistics from the Ministry of Livestock and Animal Productions
