Equipping the editors so that they raise awareness among the population to better understand the phenomenon (a financial crime) in order to make the Malian economy traceable, such was the menu of this press lunch.
For the president of the Centif, Marimpa Samoura, the day of exchanges aims to allow the Centif and the press to work together to raise awareness in the fight against corruption, with its corollary of money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
“Funds are not traceable because the economy is unbanked. This means that dirty money, which is more dangerous than the bomb, is laundered in Mali and participates in the financing of terrorism, the consequences of which are dramatic on the country's economy and the lives of the people", he said. indicated.
He said that the Centif, which fights day and night to prevent and suppress the crime of money laundering and terrorist financing (offences punishable by law) remains unknown to Malians.
