The Regional Council for Public Savings and Financial Markets (CREPMF) and its partners are in a workshop this Monday in Lomé as part of the finalization of the preliminary draft Uniform Law on stock exchange and similar crimes on the regional financial market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA).

This two-day workshop is aimed at the CREPMF General Secretariat, bar managers, magistrates, members of the Community Space Commission, professional market associations as well as other stakeholders. They will discuss the proposals and choices made by the work of the working group and finalize the Uniform Bill.
Once adopted, the UEMOA Financial Market Regulatory Authority will provide UEMOA with an appropriate enforcement arsenal to guarantee the integrity and security of transactions.
Created by an agreement signed between the member states of UEMOA on 3 July 1996, the CREPMF ensures the protection of savings invested in transferable securities, the information of investors and the proper functioning of the regional financial market. The Council also has the task of protecting investments giving rise to a public offering procedure in all the Member States of the Community area. It is the only one authorized to regulate and monitor the market and the provision of investment services
