During its quarterly review, on March 19, 2021, the General Confederation of Companies of Côte d'Ivoire (Cgeci) launched the "Ivorian employers' barometer". This new tool will make it possible to draw economic activity over a given period.

Côte d'Ivoire will no longer have difficulty in knowing and analyzing the main trends in the development of economic activity in its economic, social and financial components as well as the prospects. The first edition of the "Ivorian employers' barometer" will be published on April 20.
The head of studies and statistics of the Cgeci, Désirée Amon explains that the sample covers 150 member and non-member companies of the business confederation and operating in the following sectors: Buildings and Public Works (BTP); Agro-industry (coffee-cocoa, cotton, rubber, palm, sugar, wood); Banks and insurance; Chemical and plastic industry; Trade and distribution; Telephony and ICT; Transport etc

It will be a question of “collecting information from companies on the evolution of economic activity”, said Stéphane Aka-Anghui, executive director of the Cgeci. This initiative responds to a desire to better understand the needs and concerns of companies in order to provide an adequate and effective response.
"The barometer of employers" will also "make it possible to make a quarterly assessment of economic activity, to identify the major concerns of companies and also the prospects for the development of activities of the Ivorian private sector", adds the executive director of Cgeci. .
