Ether, Binance Coin, Tether, Dot and Ada… today there are between 6,000 and 8,000 cryptocurrencies in the world. Even if Bitcoin is the focus of all attention, other cryptocurrencies are making their way.

Ether is the cryptocurrency of the Ethereum blockchain. Created in 2015, it weighs nearly 160 billion dollars. According to Christophe Gauthier, founder of the Marseille fintech French Ico, which supports fundraising in crypto-currencies in a secure and regulatory framework, blockchains work in the same way.

“It's actually a blockchain in French. Computers are all connected in a network and constitute this blockchain. Each PC contains the full copy of the blockchain and constantly verifies the transactions made before validating them,” he explains.
