In its latest weekly indicators bulletin, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) announces that the Dirham is appreciating by 0.41% against the euro but against the US dollar, it has depreciated by 1.17%.

During the period from 04 to 10 March, the Dirham appreciated by 0.41% against the euro and depreciated by 1.17% against the US dollar.

BAM indicates that during this period, no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market. It states: “As of 5 March, outstanding official reserve assets stood at 307.9 billion dirhams (MMDH), down by 0.2% from one week to the next and by 23.5% year-on-year

.”

The total amount outstanding of BAM's interventions amounts to 73.4 billion dirhams, including 28.2 billion dirhams in the form of seven-day advances on tenders, 15.9 billion dirhams in the form of pension transactions delivered, 27.7 billion dirhams in the framework of programmes to support the financing of very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (TPME) and 1.6 billion dirhams in foreign exchange swap transactions. The average daily trading volume on the interbank market was 3.4 billion dirhams and the interbank rate averaged 1.5% during this period
