Two global electricity giants, EDF and BBOXX, are joining forces to accelerate the electrification of rural households via the “Cizo” project. The project set up in October 2017 is a real boost in the process of electrifying the most remote households in rural areas

In West Africa, a wave of solar projects to facilitate access to energy for populations in rural areas of Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Togo and Sierra Leone. The implementation of the “Cizo” project will make it possible to combine innovative services in order to support rural populations disconnected from electrical energy, to live in conditions similar to those of populations who are connected to the conventional electricity grid

In Nigeria, the Nigerian company Sunnyfred Global has signed an agreement with the Singaporean giant B&S Power Holding PTE for the financing and implementation of a 200 MWp solar power plant in Ashama, Delta State. The project should be completed in 9 to 15 months, the power plant will be located on 304 ha of land and will diversify the energy produced and support the country's industrial and commercial activities. The country's electrical capacity is 12,522 MWp, of which 10,142 MWp is produced from thermal power plants and 2,380 MW are supplied by hydroelectric installations

In Togo, the Togolese Agency for Rural Electrification and Renewable Energies (AT2ER) has launched a call for tenders for the acquisition and installation of 600 first irrigation kits. The call for tenders will end on March 29 and will be financed by the African Development Fund (ADF) and by the European Union Trust Fund, underlines

Benin and Burkina Faso will benefit from the action of the French start-up Qotto. The latter has just received financial support from the African Development Bank (AfDB), which allocated $2.5 million to it through the Energy Inclusion Facility's Off-Grid Energy Access Fund (FEI-OGEF), a debt fund managed by Lion's Head Global Partners (LHGP), with the aim of electrifying rural households in

In Côte d'Ivoire, the Ivorian Press Agency testifies that smaller projects have emerged with the implementation of a solar pump that powers a brand new water tower in the village of Sokoumékro and which will improve the living conditions of 1500 people.
