In order to make data on services transactions available, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic and Demographic Studies (INSEED) launched on Friday February 26, the third Survey on International Trade in Services (EPCIS 2020) .EPCIS 2020 will allow INSEED to collect data on service transactions between residents and non-residents for the year 2019.

This third survey on international trade in services will take place from March 1 to April 30 after those of 2018 and 2019 for the previous years. The launch mobilized employers' organisations, business associations and the media.

According to the Secretary General of INSEED, Tchiou Animaou, EPCIS meets the needs of WAEMU member states to analyze the dynamics of their economies, to negotiate with their partners and to develop the service sector.

Returning to the results of the EPCIS 2019 for the year 2018, Tchiou Animaou explained that Togo exported 321 billion CFA francs in terms of services with 66% for transport and 19% for insurance. On the other hand, the country imported services worth 263 billion CFA francs with 62% of transport services, insurance with 8% and telecommunications, computing and information about 8%.
