The internationally renowned French industrial group, Air Liquide, ended 2020 with remarkable performances. It is thus positioned in the race for future growth and benefits from the acceleration observed in health, the energy transition and the penetration of technologies, especially digital technologies, in all sectors. The industrial gas specialist made achievements in 2020 thanks to his strong contribution to the fight against Covid-19, good sales performance, significant margin growth and growth in net income and the very favourable positioning for future growth.
Chairman and CEO of the Air Liquide Group, Benoît Potier praised the exceptional work done by all the teams. “The Group mobilized more than ever to serve its customers and patients in 2020, which remains an exceptional year, while being resolutely committed to the fight against Covid-19,” he said.
Throughout the year, 2020 sales were almost stable on a comparable basis with a return to business growth in the 4th quarter. Gas & Services sales, representing 96% of Group sales, are showing good resilience, as are Global Markets & Technologies, which remain dynamic. On a comparable basis, the business is supported by strong sales growth in Health and Electronics. Geographically, the situations are extremely contrasted, in particular with good performance in Europe, driven by health demand, and the solid performance of developing economies, in particular China, the countries of Eastern Europe and Latin America
