The price of Brent oil is expected to rise gradually over the next five years, reaching $62 per barrel in 2025. This is what IFP Energies Nouvelles (Ifpen) notes in its latest “dashboard” on oil markets. “For 2021, the median Bloomberg consensus value for the Brent price is $50 per barrel

Economists surveyed by the American News Agency predict a gradual increase in the price of Brent over the next five years to reach 62 dollars per barrel in 2025,” says the French research institute in the fields of energy, transport and the environment.

In its analysis, IFP Energies Nouvelles found that, on a weekly average, Brent, on the London futures market, gained 2.6 dollars per barrel last week, an increase of 5.1%. The WTI followed the same trend and gained 2.1 dollars per barrel over the week, an increase of 4.4%

.

“The offset price structure of Brent or 'backwardation' is intensifying, a sign that the oil market is tightening and the number of net long positions rose by 2.6% over the week,” the French research institute said.
