On January 15, 2021, the State of Senegal, through its General Directorate of Public Accounting and the Treasury, raised an amount of 79.800 billion FCFA (119.700 million euros) on the financial market of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA) at the end of its simultaneous issuance by auction of equivalent treasury bonds (OATs) with a maturity of 36 and 60 months, organized in partnership with the UMOA-Titres & Bas Agency eacute; in Dakar

Investors operating on this market responded to the request of the Senegalese public treasury, which was looking for 75 billion FCFA, by offering global tenders of 84.805 billion FCFA. This gives a coverage rate of 113.07% of the amount put up for auction. Of the total amount of bids, the Senegalese public treasury retained 79.800 billion FCFA and rejected the remaining 5.005 billion FCFA

This gives a very high absorption rate of 94.10%. The securities issued will be redeemed on the first business day following the due date of January 18, 2024 for 3-year OATs and January 18, 2026 for 5-year OATs. As for interest, they are payable annually on the basis of a fixed rate of 5.60% for 3-year OATs and 5.70% for 5-year OATs, starting at the end of the first year
