Cocoa producers are unhappy with the non-application of the Decent Income Differential (DRD). A measure that allows producers to collect 400 USD on each ton of cocoa sold, in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana.
For Obed Blondé Doua, the DRD is not fully respected by manufacturers. Therefore, he invites the producers of his two neighboring countries to do everything possible for the total settlement of this injustice.

Some producers have already decided to break off all collaboration with chocolate makers who are not in good standing. But this is not without consequences. A slump in broad bean sales has already been noted in certain regions, particularly in Indenié, with more than 25% of production stored in warehouses.

The Ivorian and Ghanaian authorities have been invited to exchange with local actors and exporters so that nationals and cooperative societies can export cocoa internationally. Thus, the multinationals will no longer be the only ones to decide and sell cocoa on the international market.
