In agreement with the corrective measures of the first half of 2019, the board
Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a three-year aid program of 191.9
million dollars for Mali. A first tranche of $27.4 million was immediately
unlocked. This support will make it possible to restore State revenue, which fell sharply in 2018 "
after many years of steady growth". Tax revenue fell by 3.4% of GDP and
non-tax revenue fell by 0.8% of GDP compared to 2017. A decline caused by the situation
security and rising international fuel prices.
For the IMF, the program will initially and immediately aim "to bring the
revenues on their 2018 trajectory by strengthening the tax and customs administrations" in the
same momentum as the first half of 2019 during which "considerable progress has been made
