The African Development Bank (AfDB) could raise nearly $10.4 billion on the capital market for its 2021 borrowing program. A decision approved by the group's Board of Directors.

These loans, which aim to accelerate the economic and structural transformation of the continent with the "high five", come after the largest capital increase in the history of the bank (115 billion FCFA), which went from 93 to 208 billion dollars

Rated triple A, the AfDB also issued a social bond of 3 billion dollars called "Combating Covid-19", which allowed the continental institution to be named the best issuer of bonds related to Covid-19 during of the Global Capital Bond Awards 2020.
