“Abu brings over 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry which will be integral to expanding our fiber optic network across the African continent. With the commissioning of our East-West link, it is essential that we start working with companies in Nigeria to develop the local telecommunications and technology ecosystem and also establish ourselves as a data center provider of benchmark,” said MEWA Regional CEO, Liquid Telecom, Mohamed Abdel Bassit.
Liquid Telecom recently started construction of the data center in Lagos, which will be the largest data center in Africa outside of South Africa. The company has raised $307 million via a rights issue to fund data center projects across Africa.
