The sugar group Sucrivoire, a subsidiary of the agri-food group Sifca and listed on the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM), posted a loss of FCFA 931.027 million (€1.396) in the third quarter of 2020, indicates the financial accounts filed on the BRVW website . However, there is an improvement in the results compared to the 3rd quarter of 2019 when the net result showed a loss of FCFA 7.705 billion.

Similarly, the operating result went from FCFA - 4.286 billion to FCFA 1.081 million. An increase of 125% which is explained by a better level of sugar production for the 2019/20 campaign involving less recourse to trading, indicates Sucrivoire. Finally, turnover at FCFA 48.4 billion increased by 15% in the 3rd quarter.

With an anticipated increase in the 2020/21 sugar campaign, which started in October 2020, to around 98,000 tonnes, the sugar group says it should experience a return to growth from the end of the 2020 financial year.
