On October 21, 2020, through its Directorate-General for the Treasury and Public Accounting, received the sum of 22 billion FCFA (33 million euros) at the end of its issuance by auction of 7-year treasury equivalent bonds (OATs) on the financial market of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA).

The funds raised are intended to cover the financing needs of the Burkinabe state budget. For the month of October 2020, the Burkinabe authorities' intentions to issue public securities amounted to 45 billion FCFA, as

The amount put up for auction by the issuer amounted to 20 billion FCFA. At the end of the operation, the issuer was offered by investors a total amount of tenders of 77.547 billion FCFA, representing a coverage rate of 387.74% of the auctioned amount

For cost reasons, Burkina Faso Burkinabé retained 22 billion FCFA and rejected the remaining 55.547 billion FCFA, representing an absorption rate of 28.37%.

The securities issued will be redeemed on the first business day following the due date of October 22, 2027. As for the interest payment, it will be made annually from the first year on the basis of an interest rate of 6.40%
