Senegal's money supply increased by 433.40 billion FCFA (about 693.440
million) in February 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, learned on Saturday
APA with the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO). This money supply has
established at 5590.3 billion FCFA during the period under review against 5156.9 billion FCFA in the month of
February 2019, i.e. an increase of 8.4% in relative value (1 FCFA is equivalent to 0.0016 dollars). That
situation is mainly caused by transferable deposits (up 15.3% to 2611.5 billion
FCFA). The other deposits included in the money supply (plus 3.6% to 1695.9 billion FCFA) and the
fiduciary circulation (plus 2.2% to 1282.9 billion FCFA).
Compared to the month of January 2020 when it stood at 5544.1 billion FCFA, the money supply has
experienced an increase of 46.2 billion FCFA in absolute value and 0.8% in relative value.
