The private sector says it is happy with the interest that the government is giving them in this period of health crisis due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

After a meeting of the State-Private Sector Consultation Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly, on Wednesday April 22, 2020 in Abidjan, the President of the General Confederation of Businesses of Côte d'Ivoire (CGECI), Jean-Marie Ackah , welcomed the establishment, by the government, of a business support plan that meets their aspirations, we learned from a note from the Prime Minister.

“We are very pleased with the government's focus on the private sector during this difficult time. Almost all of our concerns have been taken into account in the Business Support Plan. We are at the government's disposal to move on to the operationalization phase. The mechanisms put in place for this purpose meet the expectations of the private sector”, rejoiced Jean-Marie Ackah.

And to add that the resources of the Support Fund, which is a reality, are being mobilized. As the exchanges continued, he asked the companies for patience.

As for Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly, he told private sector players that the government will spare no effort to provide them with the necessary support. He reassured them on the availability of the first installments of the Funds, adding that the eligibility criteria are already defined.

As a reminder, the Private Sector Support Plan during this health crisis period includes two (2) Funds. The Support Fund for SMEs estimated at 150 billion and the Support Fund for large companies, amounting to 100 billion FCFA.

"According to the Prime Minister, these Funds will be supplied with 40 and 30 billion FCFA respectively", it is added.
