50 new heavy machinery operators on the job market
Fada N'Gourma, (AIB) - A vintage of fifty young people from the Eastern region, trained in driving machines
heavy goods and occupational health and safety techniques, on the initiative of the Minister of Mines and
Careers, Oumarou Idani, made his official exit in Fada N'Gourma.
Over the past few years, Burkina Faso has become a major mining country and, as a result, significant
job opportunities for young people. Faced with the problem, the authorities have undertaken to train
this fringe of the population with a view to greater representation of local skills in the
mining companies. Thus, on the initiative of the Minister of Mines and Quarries, Oumarou Idani, fifty
young people from the East region were trained in driving heavy machinery and in health and
safety at work in mines.
They received their parchments on Saturday January 4, 2020, in Fada N'Gourma, in the presence of authorities
regional, provincial and communal and families. Holders of the Primary Education Certificate (CEP), at
less, they combined theory and practice for six months. They have grasped the notions of ethics and have
acquired knowledge on occupational health and safety. Moreover, they familiarized themselves with the
heavy machinery driving techniques. The training costs of thirty recipients were entirely
supported by Minister Idani, the other twenty being registered on title. Careful about inclusion
professionalism of his godchildren, he has already announced that the entire promotion "will be
in an internship position in the coming weeks. A promise that reassured the representative of the
beneficiaries, Noaga Onadja, once preoccupied with the thorny issue of obtaining an internship in a
given company. On behalf of his comrades, he expressed his gratitude to Minister Idani, the head of the
training center and trainers. “We come out of this center armed with knowledge
valuable, especially in the field of driving heavy machinery. We thank the Minister for
this laudable initiative,” he said.
50 candidates ready to conquer the job market
Ramatou Idani, a 2nd year law student at Ouaga II University, is very happy to be among
recipients of the day. “I am on the verge of realizing my dream of working in the mining sector”,
she confided. In all cases, the person in charge of the Vocational Training Center for Mining Machines and
health and safety at work (CFPEM-SST), Ibrahim Ouédraogo assured that his students “will be able to sell themselves
with equal skills on the labor market”. He appealed to partners to help the 50 young people to
integrate the world of work. The message from the Minister of Mines to his godchildren is an invitation to rigor and
perseverance. “As your training report testifies, you have been wonderful. Stay
in solidarity with each other. Support each other in your quest for work,” he said. By
elsewhere, he appealed to mayors, associations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs),
as well as to all the actors committed to the cause of young people to come forward in order to extend this training to
other young people from the East region. Better, Minister Idani indicated that his department is looking for
funding to undertake similar initiatives in other regions, the idea being to replace,
gradually, expatriates by national employees. He concluded by urging those involved in
different regions to join this project, but also to get actively involved in it for its success.
