The central bank has released the new public debt issuance schedule. In the document, it was revealed that Ghana plans to issue 24 billion cedi ($3.24 billion) in bonds in the second quarter, according to a release by the central bank.

Ghana's economy is currently facing a series of financial problems, including rampant inflation, currency depreciation and a heavy debt burden. According to the central bank, 20 billion cedi would be used to roll over maturing bonds, while the remaining 4.5 billion cedi are new issues to meet the government's financing needs.

The schedule showed that the government plans to issue 91-day and 182-day treasury bills every week, while 364-day treasury bills will be issued every two weeks. The two- and six-year debt will be issued through the book-building method.
