For its part, the pound sterling fell to its lowest level since mid-March against the dollar.
The pound fell to its lowest level since mid-March against the dollar which strengthened while being close to its two-week high against the euro. The pound was down 0.1% at 83.28 pence against the single currency after hitting its highest level since March 23 at 83.07 pence earlier in the session. The pound was down 0.3% against the dollar at $1.3050. It hit its lowest level since November 2020 in mid-March at $1.3.
