A capacity building workshop for Analysts and Investigators of National Financial Information Processing Units in the WAEMU zone has been held in Lomé since Monday, March 14, 2022. The meeting focuses on new techniques for financing terrorism focused on the sub-region. West African.

This sub-regional meeting follows the states general on the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML / FT), organized in Bamako, Mali, from December 04 to 06, 2019, by the CENTIF Network of the WAEMU (RECEN-UEMOA).

It will make it possible to build the capacities of the players in the field in order to enable the CENTIFs, which are at the forefront of the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism in each member country of the Union, to better use financial intelligence, to better contribute to the effectiveness of national systems for combating financial crime.
