The signing of the grant agreement for the development and facilitation of the implementation of a concomitant compact of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) was authorized by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, March 09, 2022.

Benin was declared eligible to benefit from the government of the United States of America, via the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), of a potential regional agreement (concomitant compact) for the purpose of supporting certain projects in the field of transport. These projects aim to promote economic integration and increased regional trade as well as cross-border collaboration between Benin and Niger. The authorization to sign the implementation agreement will support the completion of preliminary technical feasibility studies, environmental and social assessments as well as plans to mitigate the impacts identified.
