Cameroon received an endowment of $116 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under the Extended Credit Facility and Mechanism.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Finance, the related three-year agreements, approved at the end of July 2021, revolve around mitigating the health, economic and social consequences of COVID-19. These agreements ensure internal and external viability, the strengthening of good governance and transparency in the fight against corruption, the acceleration of structural budgetary reforms aimed at tax and customs administrations, support for the management of debt and the reduction of debt-related vulnerabilities, the implementation of structural reforms for the acceleration of economic diversification.
