Senegal is one of the beneficiaries of the Green Climate Fund, a United Nations climate change mechanism. 11 projects in Senegal will be supported out of the 69 projects selected for the benefit of the least developed countries.

The Green Climate Fund has financed 177 projects, 69 of which benefit the least developed countries. Emmanuel Seck, program coordinator at Enda Energy, says that Senegal has benefited from 11 projects. He was speaking during a regional civil society workshop on the Green Climate Fund process in Africa, at the initiative of the NGO Enda Energy. It should be noted that the Green Climate Fund was set up at the international level to channel funding from developed countries, with a view to strengthening adaptation and mitigation in developing countries.
