The country of Teranga registers 120 vessels, including 31 vessels flying the European Union flag and 24 others whose licenses are still awaiting renewal, informs Alioune Ndoye, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy. This industrial fleet allows fishing to be the first sector that brings foreign currency to the Senegalese economy, a financial windfall of more than 262 billion CFA francs. For the first person in charge of Senegalese waters, the request for renewal of licenses is managed in a strict manner, according to the regulations which govern this question.
