In the presence of the senior officials of the institutions, the National Committee in charge of the execution of the sanctions of the Security Council of the United Nations in connection with terrorism and the proliferation of weapons and their financing was set up on Wednesday in Rabat.

The establishment of this legal mechanism comes in the wake of the Kingdom's compliance with its international commitments and the alignment of its system with global standards, essentially the resolutions of the Security Council and the recommendations of the Task Force. Finance (FATF), calling on States to adopt effective provisions and instructions for the application of the said sanctions. Thus, the Committee should, in particular, examine the activation of measures to freeze the assets of natural or legal persons whose names are mentioned in Security Council resolutions, as well as the implementation of decisions to prohibit to travel according to the rules in force.
