Ghana is benefiting from $93 million from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to deal with covid-19. This fund supports the government, which has implemented numerous measures to strengthen health protection and support for businesses.

The funds granted by the EIB include a financing facility of $84.8 million and a grant of nearly $8.4 million. They will be used to “strengthen health care and the supply of specialized medical equipment and medicines within the framework of the national covid-19 health intervention plan”. This investment is part of an official visit that the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo (photo), made to Luxembourg last Monday. Note that since the start of the pandemic, Ghana has recorded 131,547 confirmed cases for 1,243 deaths.
