The portfolio of active projects of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in the Democratic Republic of Congo is valued at 1.62 billion USD according to the Ministry of Finance. This assessment stems from a restitution workshop held Monday in Kinshasa on the performance review of the portfolio of projects financed by the AfDB in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The envelope of the portfolio of active projects financed by the AfDB group in the DRC covers several sectors of national activities. The evaluation focused on 32 operations covering the infrastructure sectors (transport, energy, drinking water and sanitation) for 61%, governance for 16%, agriculture for 12%, social for 8%, mines and finance for 3%. The work also consisted of evaluating the disbursement rate of active projects financed by the AfDB Group in the DRC at around 42%, which gives a performance of 21%. The disbursement rate stands at around 42% as at October 31, 2021 for an average of 5.2-year projects with some extremes for four (4) projects ranging from 8 to 13 years.
