As part of support for the Congolese government's strategic priorities, the World Bank has just granted it $250 million. It was within the framework of the work stay of Hafez Ghanem, vice-president of the World Bank for eastern and southern Africa, and Sergio Pimenta, the regional vice-president of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Africa.

During the working visit, Hafez Ghanem and Sergio Pimenta notably met President Félix Tshisekedi and Prime Minister Sama Lukonde. Discussions revolved around support for the Congolese government's strategic priorities. In the security sector, for example, the World Bank has announced support for the new demobilization, disarmament and reintegration program in three provinces of the country. The $250 million project covers the two Kivus, North Kivu and South Kivu, and Ituri. This program will be presented to the Board of Directors next month and so we have started to implement it.
