The two presidents met at the G20 summit. US President Joe Biden hailed the efforts of President Félix Tshisekedi in promoting transparency, the fight against corruption and respect for human rights. The two Presidents also spoke of President Felix Tshisekedi's efforts as AU Chairperson to promote peace and security in Africa including the need to resolve the spreading crisis in Ethiopia and restore the transitional government of civilians in Sudan as well as the imperative to protect the Congo Basin rainforest, which is the second largest rainforest in the world, to achieve the global goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. They have also discussed the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and in particular the cooperation between the USA and the AU to provide more vaccines to Africa, reveals a source from the Presidency of the Republic.
