The West African Development Bank (BOAD) and the G5 Sahel are committed to working together for the development and security of member countries. To this end, the two institutions proceeded on Monday, October 25, 2021 to the signing of a collaboration agreement in the form of a specific partnership, in the presence of Oumarou Diallo, Vice-consul of Faso in the Togolese Republic.

This signature of agreement was materialized with the exchange of signatures between Serge EKUE, President of BOAD and Ambassador Eric Yemdaogo TIARE, Executive Secretary of the G5 Sahel. In a statement, the Bank informs that this signed agreement provides a framework for cooperation and will improve the interventions of the G5 Sahel and BOAD for the benefit of development in areas of common interest. As such, the two institutions agree "on the one hand to support the strengthening of technical, financial and institutional capacities, the carrying out of studies, research and initiatives of common interest which contribute to economic and social development their common areas of intervention; and on the other hand to mobilize the financing necessary for the realization of investment projects in the specific areas of cooperation”, one can read in the document. These areas include: Transport, water, energy and telecommunications infrastructure; Agriculture, Livestock and Climate Change; Mining, industries and services. In the future, the G5 Sahel and BOAD will work together to guarantee the conditions of development and security in the space of their member countries, offer a strategic framework for intervention to improve the living conditions of the populations. , combine development and security and promote integrated and sustainable intra-regional development.
