On the sidelines of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on October 14 and 15, the Beninese and Nigerian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Aurélien Agbénonci and Geoffrey Onyeama, agreed the organization of a high-level meeting to strengthen the legal framework linking the two countries within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The Beninese and Nigerian authorities will soon sign a number of bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening the legal framework. The two ministers explored the ways and means to accelerate the actions in progress, intended to create the framework, in particular legal, for strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
