Despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government of Côte d'Ivoire plans to spend 9,901 billion CFA francs (about 15 billion euros) for 2022. A budget up by nearly 15% compared to the 8,621.1 billion CFA francs for the 2021 financial year.

Côte d'Ivoire's 2022 budget is very ambitious. It will be necessary to mobilize tax revenues and indebtedness to finance it. Adopted by the Council of Ministers today, Wednesday, October 20, this budget is the highest in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) zone, far ahead of the CFAF 5,160 billion of the Senegal. The country will have recourse to the international financial market, either through a eurobond or through a syndicated loan to finance the budget. The government intends to focus on mobilizing domestic tax revenue, particularly at the level of customs and tax services, planning to collect some CFAF 4,767 billion in revenue.
