Around 3:20 p.m. GMT (5:20 p.m. in Paris), bitcoin gained 5.8% to 54,494 dollars, after climbing to 55,423 dollars. Since the beginning of the month, the volatile cryptocurrency has taken more than 30%. For the past year, bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have interested more and more players in traditional finance. But after a historic high in mid-April at 64,870 dollars, the market oscillates between optimism and concern, in particular with the risk of increased regulation. Cryptocurrency notably lost ground in September, as China tightened its stance on banning most activities in the sector.
