The macroeconomic outlook in 2021 looks favorable for Togo. The country now expects 5.3% GDP growth in 2021.

According to the new official data communicated on September 30, Togo is now counting on a growth of 5.3% of its GDP in 2021. While the inflation rate is not declining, these figures also reflect the upward trend in the prices of basic necessities on the markets in the country for a few months. “Despite an uncertain international environment, the macroeconomic outlook for 2021 looks favourable. The beneficial effects of the dynamism in all branches of the economy should allow real GDP growth to accelerate to 5.3% in 2021 against 1.8% in 2020. The Togolese economy should return to its pre-growth the crisis,” said Minister Pré Simfétcheou, representing the Minister of Economy and Finance in parliament during a budget orientation debate.
