Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) announces that during the period from September 16 to 22, the dirham appreciated against the euro by 0.33% and depreciated by 0.51% against of the US dollar.

Bank Al-Maghrib retained during the auctions of purchase of currencies a total amount of 671 million dollars, that is to say the equivalent of 6 billion dirhams (MMDH). According to the weekly indicators bulletin, as of September 17, 2021, BAM's outstanding official reserve assets stood at 311.9 billion dirhams, down 0.2% week-on-week and up. 4.4% year-on-year. The overall outstanding balance of Central Bank interventions comes to 95.2 billion dirhams, including 36.6 billion dirhams in the form of 7-day advances on calls for tenders, 30.9 billion dirhams in the form of repurchase agreements, 26 .7 billion dirhams as part of support programs for the financing of the TPME and 1 billion dirhams under foreign exchange swap transactions. On the interbank market, the average daily trading volume stood at 2.9 billion dirhams and the interbank rate stood at an average of 1.50% during this period, the same source added, adding that during the call for tenders of September 22 (value date September 23), Bank Al-Maghrib injected an amount of 30.5 billion dirhams in the form of 7-day advances.
