The launch ceremony of the Land Transport Sector Governance Support Program (PAGOTRANS) took place on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Worth nearly 2 billion CFA francs, this two-year program is financed in the form of a donation by the European Union, specified the Minister during the launching ceremony.

The Minister of Infrastructure, Land Transport and Accessibility, Mansour Faye indicated that PAGOTRANS is part of a "regional dynamic" coordinated by WAEMU, through the Regional Infrastructure Program (PIR ) of the 11th West African Economic ^Development Fund (EDF). PAGOTRANS is essentially based on two components, namely “technical assistance” relating in particular to the operationalization of the Central Road Data Bank (BCDR), explained the Minister of Infrastructure, Land Transport and Opening up. The PAGOTRANS should, in the long term, allow the implementation of a better strategy to preserve the road heritage, the improvement of the fluidity of transport on the road corridors and the harmonized and synchronized implementation of the regulations.
