The kick-off was given by the President of the WAEMU Commission, Abdoulaye DIOP.
The Experts, executives of the Organs and Institutions of UEMOA, BCEAO, BOAD and CREPMF take part in this meeting which ends on Wednesday, September 08, 2021. By launching the work, the President of the Commission of the WAEMU, Abdoulaye DIOP hailed the important role of the Committee in the decision-making process of the Union's Statutory Council of Ministers. On the agenda, two texts will be examined by the experts. Texts intended, will say the President of the WAEMU Commission, "to make operational Regulation No. 03/2020/CM/UEMOA of June 26, 2020 establishing a Diploma of Accounting and Financial Expertise (DECOFI) within the 08 Member States of the Union”. The President of the Commission recalled that the said regulation "was adopted to replace Regulation No. 12/2000/CM/UEMOA of November 22, 2000, the aim of which was to accompany the common accounting reference system for the Member States of the Union and thus contribute to improving the quality of the financial information produced in our space”. According to him, reliable financial information is essential to the transparency and quality of economic governance.
