Regional Experts have been meeting in Togo since Monday, August 30, 2021 for the harmonization of the Baccalaureate in the Member States of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). This meeting will also make it possible to find appropriate answers to the problem of the management of the Baccalaureate examination in the regional space.

The work of the regional meeting for the production of skills and resources content scheduled for August 30 to September 03, 2021 was launched by the Minister of Higher Education and Research of Togo, Prof Magesté Ihou Watéba. Thus, for five days, these experts will capitalize on the fruits of several years of intense technical work with a view to setting up a regional mechanism for monitoring and evaluating the achievements of students in the final year of education. secondary. They will take note of the report of the ad hoc committee on the various activities carried out by the States. It will also be a question of sharing the experiences acquired in the organization of the "white" BAC, of identifying and agreeing on common actions to be undertaken as a priority with a view to the organization of the regional "white" BAC and of drawing up plans for national actions and roadmaps for the implementation of Directive 07/2020.

This path towards the unique Baccalaureate will make the diploma not only a real tool for regional integration, but also for preparing posterity to undertake higher education in accordance with international standards required by the License Master Doctorate (LMD) reform. The harmonization of the Baccalaureate in the member states of UEMOA is the culmination of several years of work and exchanges between the member countries in charge of the Baccalaureate harmonization initiative, which should serve as a compass.
