During the 3rd economic summit of the "G20 Compact with Africa" (CwA) held Friday in Berlin (Germany) in virtual and face-to-face, the Vice-President of Benin, Mariam Chabi Talata revealed Benin's anti-Covid-19 strategy. According to her, the essential remedy is solidarity.

Along with Romuald Wadagni (Minister of State for the Economy and Finance) and Aurélien Agbenonci (Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation), Mariam Chabi Talata's first participation in this high-level summit was a success. The objective of this initiative is to improve the basic conditions for investment and trade in the partnership between Germany and Africa, and to encourage the development of new forms of mutually advantageous and sustainable partnership. Mariam Chabi Talata placed particular emphasis on the challenges faced by Benin in the face of the pandemic and the country's expectations by participating in this Summit. "Benin's fundamental strategy remains the total vaccination of its citizens," she stressed. On the economic level, she stressed that the major challenge of the country is the organization and financing of the revival of inclusive and sustainable growth. "Benin proposes, in terms of experiences to share with others, the use of innovative financing instruments as a lever for mobilizing resources from the private sector in G20 countries, such as the issuance of SDG euro bonds" , she clarified. This summit brought together African countries, the government and German economic operators as well as representatives of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
