The government and the agency have signed a Participation Agreement to fulfill the final terms of the Government of Senegal's membership in the ACA.
Membership in ATI will give international investors and financiers confidence that sovereign transactions and other investments are backed by ATI, a highly rated and reputable provider of insurance guarantees. The Participation Agreement will be accompanied by a capital contribution of 15 million euros, financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB), for Senegal's accession to the ACA following the signing of a financing agreement between Senegal and the EIB in October 2020. ATI's investment grade rating helps to mitigate investment risks and provide investment insurance capacity to cover large borrowings, which allows Senegal to meet the conditions of international lenders and investors. ATI is increasingly seen as a strategic development partner for African governments, providing between 1 and 2% of its member states' annual GDP and participating in some of the continent's largest strategic development projects to boost intra-African investment and trade in support of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
