The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), through the General Directorate of the Economy (DGE) brought together private sector players to discuss the sustainability of companies, under the theme: "The determinants of sustainability private enterprises in Benin: issues, challenges and perspectives”. This meeting, which serves as the ^24th edition of the periodic MEF conference, made it possible to examine the essential provisions of the reforms. These include the tax facilities and incentives put in place by the Beninese government for the benefit of companies; support measures for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises which include easier access to markets, protection against late payment of invoices by the State, incentives for co-contracting and sub-contracting with large companies; and many others. Initiatives that now allow companies to extend their lifespan. The lack of qualified personnel being one of the real problems of SMEs, the exchanges made it possible to show the government's efforts in this direction. Efforts that go through the promotion of technical education through the establishment of several multidisciplinary technical and vocational education establishments throughout the country. The government's ambition through these initiatives is to promote entrepreneurship, competitiveness and profitability of local SMEs.
