The aim is to promote training curricula that take into account gender-responsive budgeting. Thus, they will be able to be provided in vocational training schools for public officials in the Member States of the Union. According to the publication of the information site “Le Faso”, the UEMOA Commission wishes to standardize the implementation of gender-sensitive budgeting in all eight member states. Dr Barbara Ky, economist and gender director at the UEMOA Commission, indicates that “UEMOA member states have initiated actions to take gender into account in the preparation of budgets.
